Asking for less costs less.
Two ways to pay for a check, and one party who never pays for anything. Integrated platforms are billed monthly per call, by the tier of data that came back. Everyone else pays per check at the counter. Institutions are the supply side of this network and are free, permanently.
The metered rate card
Per successful check, in Naira, excluding VAT. The tier is decided by what the response actually contained, not by a plan you signed.
The least invasive question is the cheapest one to ask.
Most verification pricing runs the other way: the more personal data a call returns, the more it is worth, so the business model quietly rewards asking for everything. We think that is how a country ends up with student records in twenty places that did not need them.
So Tier 0 — enrolled or not, and where — is priced at ₦15, eight times cheaper than an identity-linked call. If all you need is to decide whether someone qualifies for a student account, it costs you least to ask exactly that, and there is nothing in your logs afterwards that a breach could turn into somebody else’s problem.
It is also the only tier that needs no consent, which means it is the only tier that always answers. Data minimisation is not a compliance chore here — it is the fast path.
46,000 checks. Most are “is this person a student”; only the loan applications need programme and expected completion.
Quick Verify, without an account
For a landlord, a shop or a small employer who will check five students this year and should not have to integrate anything to do it. Prices include VAT.
At this volume, look at the API instead — it is cheaper by an order of magnitude.
₦500 buys one check that a Tier 1 integration gets for ₦50. That gap is the cost of us doing the work you would otherwise do yourself — a checkout, a payment, a receipt and a refund path, for someone with no account and no contract. If you are checking more than twenty students a month, the API is the right answer and we would rather tell you that here than take the money. Payment processing fees are added at checkout and shown before you authorise anything: card +1.5%, USSD +₦50, bank transfer free.
Universities, polytechnics and colleges of education pay nothing to upload, nothing to hold their records here and nothing per verification. Charging an institution for the privilege of being asked about its own students would be charging for the thing that makes this network work. Onboarding, training and the first guided upload are included.
Billing, answered.
A check that returned an answer — verified or not verified. A 409 asking for consent is not an answer and is never billed. Neither is a 429, a 5xx, an NSID that does not exist, or any call at all in sandbox.
By the fields that actually came back. If you ask for Tier 1 and the student has only granted status, you are served status and billed at Tier 0. Scopes are enforced against the live consent row, not against your tier.
Monthly in arrears, with a line per tier, the quantity, the unit rate and VAT at 7.5% shown separately. Usage is visible in the developer console throughout the month, so the invoice is never the first time you see the number.
No. No platform fee, no seat licence, no annual commitment. A month with no traffic invoices ₦0, and nothing is deactivated for being quiet.
No, and we would rather you hammered it. Every awkward state — grace, lapsed, a suspended institution, a merged identity — has a fixture with a real check character, and integrations that have met them behave better in production.
VAT at 7.5% is added to every metered invoice. Quick Verify prices are VAT-inclusive because they are paid by individuals at a checkout, and a receipt that adds tax after the fact is a receipt somebody disputes.
Keys the moment you verify your email, a rate card that does not change when you scale, and an invoice you can predict from your own logs.
